On the flip side of that I just love me some Cameo- Taste Like Candy, Sheila E- Glamorous Life, And I use to downright love Shirley Murdock's- As We Lay, until I got my heart broken. Ain't been 100% ever since.
What can I say I was raised in an enchanting era. Our family migrated to the US from the West Indies in the early 70's. So we all listened to Soca- it was only right. My parents also were listening to Tom Jones type easy listening, and country music. One brother listened to Eddie Kendrics & Curtis Mayfield. My other Brother listened to Santana, Jimmy Hendricks and the Who. (Carlos makes some bangin shoes now though! Who knew he had it in him?!) and my sister listened to a combination of reggae, easy listening, and r&b. As the youngest I was subject to listening to all of it. I added rap as a teen and then smooth jazz, soft rock, classical when I got older I got into gospel & Sandy Patty. Yes Sandy Patty, Christian music's answer to Julie Andrews.. Is it a wonder.
And man do I miss some of the GOOD music - there are some bright spots today - but ain't nothing like the first few chords of Earth,Wind and Fire or a good Temptations groove. Bring the house DOWN with some GAP band!!!! LOL
