Whaddup fam!!!  Yea, I managed to get up early this morning - but NOT for lack of having been out last night!!!!  Who knew that without 'medical assistance' I can sleep 5 hours and be okay??!!!!  HA!!!

NE wooo - I need help from yall on gift ideas - so tell me some of the **** you have bought for people for Christmas - I need an idea to steal.  I got my daughter covered - 19in LCD HDTV, fragrance trio, a lil game or two.  Have no CLUE what to get my mom - I got a DVD I know she'll like but that's it so far and I'm totally stuck when it comes to my other mother..... SO

Girl I was just about to post the Sunday Dinner post but now you can do it.  Sorry I don't have any gift ideas.

Gurl...I am so glad that my mom in no longer living with me (love her to death) BUT I love my sanity! My mom just bought land and will eventually move back to Arkansas to start her home there...so her gifts were easy. I bought her a personalized Mailbox  to help motivate her to keep her plan in sight! A beautiful large throw and rocking chair so she can visualize sitting on HER patio relaxing.

I am also thinking of buying her a giftcard to Home Depot so that she can buy whatever she wants for HER home.

I am trying to be subtle....but I think she will get the hint and keep moving towards her goal.

I will throw out a few other gift ideas for older women:

Gift certificate for spa or trip to the nail salon
Gift certificate to favorite restuarant ( enough for her and a friend)
Nice hand bag
New set of luggage if hers is looking little tattered 
Coupon book for oil changes if she has a car...I find that older people do not maintain their cars as well as they should, I am the one that bought my mom's 1st AAA membership one Xmas

Gurl - lemme have you laughin......

These ideas are great for NORMAL moms over 65....... my mama is something special - here's why those are things I thought of....but that won't work for her.....

1 - eliptical: She has a back problem that makes exercise difficult.  A gym membership to a place down the street from her house that she never uses and oh yea - she's never exercised consistently in her life save the one summer she lost 20lbs doing Jack Lelane every morning (I've heard about that 20lbs 20THOUSAND times)
2 - Live Theater tics - she hates people..... REALLY hates them, especially white people.  IF I could find a theater where NO WHITES would be GUARANTEED - she'd still have issues with the folk that were there.......
3 - Marijuana - she has a supplier and keeps stocked up WAY more than I could ever buy.  A gram?  she buys it by the pound already....
4. prepaid cell phone - #1, she has a sprint blackberry phone but #2, she hates cell phones, thinks they are used by the 'man' to track her movements, so she never turns on the one she has and keeps the bill paid for it
5 - photo book - NOPE, it's got white folk in it.
6 - flowers - nope - she would say it's a waste of good money and why the hell didn't I buy something useful?
7 - underwear - this woman is so particular bout her draws, I would NEVER attempt to buy some FOR her.  Seriously. I've listed to hour+ long diatribes on the quality of draws in the stores 'these days'
8 - eye pillow - nah
9 - rock and roll - that would get me a hour long diatribe on how white folk stole music from black folk and how that's an extension of slavery for 'da man'
10 - bath and body gift sets - perhaps.  BUT - I still get a diatribe on how she wasn't able to use the bathroom like she wanted to growing up and how she had to restrict her water usage when I was a kid cause I used so much water that she had to only take a bath once a week to keep the water bill down.  

I think I might could do #9 and #10 together tho........

  See why this **** is so difficult for me???!!!!!  LMAOOOOOO

This tickled me..... gave me a  visual of your mom (never seen her in my life so I put Rosa Parks as a stand in for her),  Visualize this little old lady beating white folks left and right with her purse as she tries to go shopping on BLACK Friday....thinking that ONLY black folks will be out that day!!! ROTFLMAOooooo

I hear you...shopping for some folks is very difficult....especially those that really have everything they could possibly need or want.

9: a black nativity set

Gurlllll - Africa or Jamica will NOT work!!!!  She does NOT care for 'those Negroes'!!!!!  HAHAHAHHA - one of her favorite diatribes is how Africans are so nasty to Blacks - she sees them as the 'other' White folk!!!

I tell you - anything you can come up with, she's got a reason why NOT!!!

LOL!  umm - no can do for that either!  she got WAY more cheddar than me - if I had her an envelope with what I can do, she'll say "Aw, ain't that nice.... she gave me some pocket change"

 

My list is short, just three to buy for.

Two are getting digital cameras that take video
One is getting a gps

Also, some picture frames, dvd's, hair accesories, ipod accesories.
