Hi, I'm not a natural hair sister ~ my hair is relaxed, but I did revise from lap-band to RNY. I experienced considerable hair loss, it has been a year and I don't think I am losing any more but it is still thin in some areas.

What did you do to maintain your hair?  Mine hair had shed so much and falling out I do not know what to do.

I'm natural.  Occaisionally I use a flat iron but I prefer wash and wear.

I have had fallout.  Thining right from the root.  Biotin helped a lot.  When I stopped using it the hair loss returned.  Recently I dropped my protein below 100g since my suregeon's guidlines place me at 70g daily.  Bad idea; hair became brittle with some brakage.

I'm back on biotin and I've upped the protein.  Hair is improving,

I wear wigs mostly and my real hair has been unpermed for over 2 years now.  I keep my natural hair washed, conditioned, greased and braided underneath the wig.  I started taking biotin along with my other vitamins immediately after surgery and I have not had any hair loss.
