It must take a very strong constitution on a female's part to want to be part of a three-some that includes her DH and another woman. Once she sobers up a little bit and sees her man thrustin, pumpin, and sweatin with the other female, she dies a little inside I'll bet.
Same for a man to see his wife getting rammed in, humped on, and gagged (use you imagination here folks) by some other dude and not feel inside like he was thrown off a 10 story building.
As for everyone that's not attached or just in relationships, I suspect the feeling may be a little bit like that but not quite.
ETA: Did they touch each other when they weren't touching you?
