Anyone know anything about biotin? Has anyone used it before? Had any success with growing hair/preventing it from falling out?

I started using biotin at I guess 4 months post op.  It does reduce the thining for me.  I take it four times a day.

I stopped it at around 9 months out; but,, I had to go back to it.  My hair quickly became coarse, there was some breakage and it started thining again.  I'll be on biotin for a long time.

I took biotin before my surgery and after. It didn't do a thing to prevent or stop my hair loss. My hair has been shedding for months with no end in site. It's a good thing I had alot starting out or I would be bald now. Most people on here have said that there is nothing that really works to stop the hair loss. It has to run its course and will grow back eventually. Good luck.

I, too, started taking Biotin long before even considering WLS.  I've recently started to notice that my hair is shedding alot. Like the other poster, I don't believe anything will stop the hairloss.  But I will continue to take it.
