Wasting food

Hi OH FAM,

So, this morning I went in the fridge to fix my lunch for today. And for the first time EVER (that i can remember my fridge is FULL! I mean packed. Like I have to clean it out this weekend or I won't have room for grocery's. The things is, I can eat off of a meal for several days. It's a good and bad thing. Good because pre-op nothing even made it to the fridge. I sucked up every oz of food in sight. But bad because I really feel bad for wasting so much food. I'm literally going to empty out my entire refrigerator. Once again something I've never done before. Now some food I'll keep but I can only eat left overs for so long. It gets old after a while!

I just want to share this mini "wow" moment!!!

Oh, Btw, I put on those 18s that I got into while on the pre-op diet and they fell off. So today I tried on some old jeans I haven't worn in about a year and they are also to big! Lol, I started thinking, wow, I'm gonna out grow these clothes faster than I thought. I have on a XL Polo today and it swallowed me! I can't believe all the changes in my body and even more to come! I'm not even at a month out yet!

Hope you all have a blessed and wonderful day!!!! I can't wait to get home I'm tired already!  I hope I get my energy back soon!!!!

Congratulations on your wow's.

I was raised to believe wasting food is a sin.  Rational thinking tells me to eat just so as not to waste is just nonsense.  This sinner ditches good food whenever tempted to over eat.  Without any guilt.

When I cook I weigh portions and freeze individual servings.  I try to avoid waste.  What I throw out is usually a treat.  Why can't you ever find the light, low carb, sugar free, fat free versions of junk foods in individual portions???  I buy the large bag, weigh a portion and throw out the rest to keep from eating it.

The bigger sin would be continuing to eat like a fat person ater what I put my body through to loose weight.

The freezer is a lifesaver! Place your leftovers in small freezer bags and enjoy later. I found it easier as an early post-op and it saves money.

Congrats on the new pants size!

CONGRATS on your many wow moments and may you have many many more.

I personally will eat left overs for as long as they are there.  Damm don't think I should be sharing this but I just finished eating the last bit of Thanksgiving dinner.  My kids stop eating it by that Monday but not me.  I have learned that a takeout meal will last me at least 3 days.  Use to enjoy a very hot meal, now by the time I finish my it's usually ice cold.

I feel the same way about waisting food so I have been putting stuff in the Freezer and take it out as I need it cause if I make one meal it may last about 2 days. Congratulations on the WOWs
