Business is business. Most people don't realize how thin profit margins really are and everything mark ups really cover. I look for legitimate specials but I don't expect a 'just cause you're a sister special', ever. My shopping criteria and expectations are the same as for non Black businesses.
However, I have witnessed too many Black people with the attitude discussed on the program. I've listened to them grumble and have been amazed at their refusal to use common sense. Its shameful how some begrudge a busness its hard earned profits. They just won't see this Black business owner is working for an honest living just like the rest of us.
No food hook ups for me. I was never a true foodie pre op. More of a nibbler even now (dander, grazing alert). A big plate was not an issue cause I was only going to eat part of it at that moment anyway. Love of higher calorie foods are my bigger issue.

Gurl...some of our folks would have us wagging our heads in shame....ie. one woman calling 911 cause she could not get a refund for some chicken nuggets... just pitiful.

@ I hope they arrested her @$$.Yep...they sure did!!! or at least this looks like a mug shot! She was cited.
Florida Woman Calls 911 After McDonald's Runs Out of McNuggets

A Florida woman called 911 three times after she paid for a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets at a McDonald's but the fast-food restaurant ran out of them and refused to give her a refund.
Latreasa L. Goodman, 27, made the calls after she tried to get her money back from a Fort Pierce McDonald's and the cashier told her all sales were final. Police released the 911 tapes.
"This is an emergency. If I would have known they didn't have McNuggets, I wouldn't have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don't want one," police quoted her as saying. "This is an emergency."
The cashier suggested she choose something else off the menu of equal value to the McNuggets, and offered the restaurant's cheeseburger called the McDouble.
"She's trying to force me to eat something off the menu and I don't want it," Goodman told 911.
The first dispatcher, a woman, asks if there's a manager there, but listens to Goodman's complaints and says she's sending someone.
The second, male dispatcher tells her he's aware of the incident and "we've got an officer coming out there to talk to you."
Police say Goodman was cited on a misuse of 911 charge. A current phone listing for Goodman couldn't be found.
A McDonald's spokesman said Goodman should have been given a refund, and she's being sent a gift card for a free meal.
2. Sometimes I think people threw in extra food cause they saw I was a "big Girl" and was probably "hongry". However, I have asked for a hook-up if I had to wait unreasonalbly long for my order. Hey, its the least you can do.
Another thing that I have noticed about some black-owned business's is that they are "too familiar" with me. I don't mean like I am stuck up and can't have a coversation with you, but don't cuss if your conversation with me or talk about "white folks." Its a good posibillity I may not agree with you, and plus...I DON'T KNOW YOU LIKE THAT. Respect me like the you would want me to respect you. I'm not "baby girl, boo, or Gulll". Call me Ms. or Ma'am....because that's what I am calling you. When your boss walks about, don't tell me "Dat bytch is crazy!" I have probably already figured that out, and you still have to deal with her when I walk out. I could be her relative...you just don't know.
Ok, that's kind of off topic, but jus something I happen to think of. LOL
@ I have asked for a hook-up on a bootleg purse from my friend's mother. Shameful, but the truth. LOL And the truth will set you free! LOL!

Its a trip because sometimes I would be happy and other times angry as heyl if someone gave me an extra large helping. I wanted to be the one initiating the larger portion....don't insult me by giving my big azz a HUGH plate because I look like I need it.......but......don't give me a smaller portion either because I look like I need to be on a diet cause that would make me angrier. LOL! Heyl...person would be better off telling me to fix my own dayum meal....they couldn't win for losing.
