WHY DO PEOPLE

MSW will not settle

I avoid thinking forever.

I now weigh what I did when I first thought I'd never gain a lot of weight in my life time.  This was after having lost 25-30 lbs.  I know better now having lost 125+ lbs starting five years pre op.

I know I can regain easily.  I guess others strongly believe they will not regain and gone forever is their mantra.  As for me, I wrote a post on my profile titled I've Lost Weight But It Keeps Finding Me.  I'll be trying to out run this fat for the rest of my life.

The only absolutes in life are death, taxes and Jesus coming again as far as I'm concerned. When I see those posts, I cringe a little because I've seen a few too many people on reality shows that have gained their weight back after surgery and people in real life also. I approach wls as a tool and at first it works with very little help but if you don't learn new skills then you will gain, it is a tool !!!! I've learned never to say never about any aspect in my life because Iife will knock you on your butt and not even help you up when you least expect it !!!!

I would like to think gone forever, I would like to think that a few people and other health issues, etc are gone forever.  I have learned that unless you work it and keep working it,  it can creep back up on you like some too little drawers.  Gone forever goes with a commitment of working it forever.   I just want the rest of this mess to be gone period and there is where me, myself and I have to reside.  Working at it..... Right now, I am just glad that my today dont look like my yesterday.  One day at a time.

I too cringe when I see someone who says that or has it in their siggy.
It's a nice thought, but it takes *WORK*.
That is usually the honeymooners saying all that.
I wish those people well, but I really think it's foolish to say "FOREVER". That's just me.

I've struggled to get the last 17 lbs off. I don't think this is forever. I think that the same way I'm fighting to get the last 17 off, I will fight to keep my total weight loss.

For me it is truly wishful thinking.  I am fighting so hard to keep the weight from creeping back on.  Of course I know it is not creeping.  I am sabotaging.  I want the weight gone forever.  It's post like these that help me to try to stay with the program.  Losing weight is not my life but getting and keeping it off could save my life.

IMO...no the weight is not gone forever unless you are willing to work the tool forever.

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown

I like gone forever better than gone for now....

But forreal I don't think of it in those terms. I think in terms of how am I doing this week. I live in the here and now. And make adjustments accordingly.
