H1N1 Phishing Scam
FYI - this came from my bank today.
What to Know:
Emails claiming to originate from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are starting to circulate. The messages contain a subject referencing the H1N1, or swine flu, vaccination program. If users follow a link purporting to lead to a website where they can create a "vaccination profile," they are immediately infected with the perilous Zeus Trojan, also known as Zbot.
What to Do:
Be aware of unsolicited emails with subject lines such as "State Vaccination H1N1 Program, "Governmental registration program on the H1N1 vaccination" and "Create your personal Vaccination Profile." Delete these emails without opening them. If however, the email is opened, DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS in the message, close it and delete the message.
Who to Contact:
If you clicked a link in a message bearing these subject lines, immediately contact a computer professional to help remove the Zeus Trojan from your computer. Do not access your online accounts or enter any confidential information on your computer until it is professionally cleaned.
