Cookie, just saw your post about 16 January. Sorry to be a wet noodle but that date is not going to work for me . I will be at CRC (Fort Benning GA) for a week for training starting 16 Jan and then I leave out. Is it possible to do 9 Jan 10? I appreciate all that you are trying to do however if it cant work out, I am more than fine with that, I am only gone for a little while and will be back before you know that I left and you know my pleasure is more giving than recieving so the thought that you even thought to do something bring a smile to my face and I love you and all who is willing to plan something.
Doug, not only am I going, but I am truly looking forward to it. I lived overseas for 20 years, so that is not strange to me. I will be living on a military base, wearing military clothing so I will blend in, I have no fear for my safety, folks get shot in their living room in DC so if it is my time to go, letting fear keep me from an experience is not going to keep me from dying.

The young soldiers over there who did not have an options to not go. They truly need someone who care for their well being and will ensure that they get all that they need prior to heading out to more dangerous part of the place, and I can be that person. Iraq is relatively safe.
From one ex military to another, I am explaining to you because I know you can understand. A true civilian, one who never knew the military life would never understand in a million years, so really why waste the time and effort to try to explain? I chose not to.

...i understand...i'm just being selfish. i'm gonna try my best to make it to see you before you go...(i've actually had so many friends and acquaintances injured, maimed, and killed...i've actually considered going back in myself. i would try to explain that...but like you...i chose not to.)
