I agree PLEASE READ THE BOOK. The book was outstanding. I could not put it down. I read straight through it on a road trip in little less than three hours.

I am so glad that I read the book before I saw the movie. The book was definitely better than the movie. But the movie in my opinion was excellent. I told my friends that hadn't seen the movie that this is not your typical feel good movie with a happy ending.
The sad thing is this is a reality of a lot of children. Being a foster parent I could tell you some stories that would break you down. There is so much horrific abuse going on in homes all across America that it is truly sad.
This movie along with Antwoine Fisher is one of my favorite movies. Precious will be hard for me to watch again, but when the movie comes out I'm definitely going to get it. I'm looking forward until the day I can watch it with my daughter.
By the way...were there a lot of young kids at the movies when you went to see it? I was unnerved by the number of children there to watch it.
