OT: After almost 20 years.(long)

My grand daughter is going to school to be a hair dresser.  Well, I haven't had my hair done in over 20 years by anyone other then myself.  She was having a test,, and needed her first guinea pig.  There were about 20 students and two teachers on the floor.  Ok, I have really long hair, and she was gonna cut it, which was fine with me.  So first she took out my pony tail, and started massaging my scalp, Lawd did that feel good.  Then we went to the "washing area", I got washed twice, and then some conditioning stuff.  We then went to her station, and she was suppose to start cutting it, but when my hair is wet, it's full of waves.  So the teacher told her to
blow it dry, and then cut it, which she did.  After that, she took this thing called a "flat iron", if I'm not mistaken,  and did the ends.  She then brushed my hair really hard with some clear looking stuff, and I'm telling you my head felt so good.  And when I touched my head,, seriously,, my hair felt so damn thin,, and silky.  I was amazed.   I came into work and got a bunch of Ooohs and aaahs,, because they only see me in a pony tail every frigging day.  So,, I'm not done,, the reason I wear a pony tail is because my hair never ,,,, ever,,,, holds a curl.  I curl it,, it looks great until about noon,, and it starts falling out, and I'm back to the blah look.  Well, last night I sprayed this
stuff on it that I bought at her school, and rubbed in some of that clear stuff,, I then put some rollers in it and went to bed.  This morning,, I had curls, it is now 4pm,, and I still have curls,  it's great.  My hair feels like silk.  Oh,, and when I came to work this morning it was pouring rain, with snow, sleet,, everything today,, a mess.  Didn't bother my hair at all. I am really liking this.  Next month she's doing coloring,, yep,, I'm getting dyed.  I told her I'd like some "streaks", she looked at me like I was nuts,, and said, Grandma, we call it high lights now.  Ok,, well I'm putting in my order for that.  But, when she gets to make up she can find someone else.. I don't put that stuff on my  face.  Ok,, now I'm done,, I just wish you could see my hair. If the weather wasn't so bad I'd have my son come take my picture and figure out how to get in here.  I tried before, and was getting problems because of the size of the picture.  Ok,, I'm done.

Please do tell what products you used.  Brand, item name, etc.  I hope you can post a pic soon.  Twenty years is too long to go without treating yourself to a salon treatment.

After reading this, I'm beginning to think that I'm making myself sound like someone from the Beverly Hillbillies,,  as I have not let anyone mess with my head in years.  But I forgot to tell you the name of the place,, she is going to Paul Mitchell Academy, so it's his products, and his brand.  The clear stuff she put on,, it's like an "oil", and makes your hair very silky.  It smells like apples, I believe it's called Skinny serum,, and the conditoner just says Moisture conditioner.
