Tiffany, I would advise you not to buy a lot of any one type of protein.  Your taste buds and/or pouch might not be able to tolerate them post op.  You might want to get some samples of different kinds.

That being said, GNC has an unflavored protein powder that was very useful to me when I was a new post op.  It blends in easily and you can mix it with savory foods like soups.  It's more expensive than their other protein powders, but to me it was worth it to get some variety in my diet.

Hey Ctiffany2002l!

So happy to hear about your approval! Congratulations! Don't invest in a lot of protein until after surgery. You might want to try to order some samples now.  Just do a google for protein samples and order some. You might start with Atkins protein shakes. They have the best flavor that I have some across so far....but thats just me. Eventually....you want to get to a powder because of costs. I personally have not found a powder that I like. Wishing you the best with your upcoming surgery!

Congrats on your approval and date.

I tried almost every protein out there. I found that the isopure flavored ready to drink worked for me when I added a little Crystal Light fruit punch or lemonade to it. I couldn't do anything milk based for several months. Sadly, it will be trial and error. If you will have a hard time getting around to buy different proteins, just keep this in mind. If you buy directly from GNC, you can return protein powders that you don't like, even if they have been opened.

Good Luck!

I agree with everyone that you probably shouldn't invest in alot of protein before surgery because you're taste buds can change.  I'm cheap so I get the Body Fortress Whey Protein from walmart and add sugar free coffee syrup to that which makes it tolerable for me.
