many years ago i lived with my best friend's mother for 8 months b/c i was between apartments and literally had no place else to go.  she was cool and i was incredibly grateful.  similarly visitors who stay for weeks and months at a time (out of need) don't bother me as long as they keep a "low footprint" (they contribute their consideration in place of money).   how-sun-ever, if we're really tambout cousin so and so who isn't put out and has his own place down the street but wants to sit around drinking up all my peach snapple, gurl hospital beds are only for sick patients, he cant stay for any length of time.    how you gone break it to him?

My sister in law and two children recently stayed with me for six weeks and it was the pits.  She only contribute $50 the whole time she was at my house.  She messed it up for any of my other family members to ever visit or stay with me longer than one night.  I love you but you need your own space even when only visiting.  If you are sick and in need that is a different story.

Right..My cousin went grocery shopping and the money part isnt an issue. Staying there is the issue.

He needs to be educated on how to not abuse peoples' hospitality.

How old is he?   Does he have a job?

He's selling drugs.    He's training the pit bull to guard his stash.

He can afford a hotel room if he drives a Hummer.
