Whew... I have a cuzn who pops in my home town a few times out of the year. Normally, I wouldnt care when he would come  and go because his TAIL never stayed with me. One time he stayed with a relative for a MONTH. Now all of my cuzn we WORK so we cant sit and entertain his tail when he comes and do his surprise POP visits. I asked in general conversation how long does he think he is gonna be here, he was like a week or so...Which I know now means two. He got some nerves, he also brings his PITBULL PUPPY with him. I am ready for him to HIT IT!!!!! I think that you should only stay at your MAMA and DADDY's house for a week or better. I am just a first cousin. love him dearly but he is about to over stay his welcome. How long do you think when you visit a relative you should stay. I think the third day you should be packin up....What do you think?

I don't impose on family or friends longer than a weekend. I would expect them to show me the same courtesy. Certainly, when I impose, I am pet free.

I hope he and puppy leave soon. Good luck!

I know what you mean.  Family is something.  Tell him he should be gone.  He should have the courtesy of calling ahead of time.  Family can be trifling.

LOL! I think the first day...a guest (Family or friend) should come prepared to stay at a hotel unless you are my one and only favorite cousin who is very much like me. I have been known to put family up at a hotel for one or two nights and then they have to fend for themselves.  I am too particular to have folks staying with me. I like things to be in their place and I have routines. I need to with two girls...plus that creates a whole new dynamic in itself! I think you are doing good. I know its hard to say no to family.....so the only thing you can do is make his stay so miserable...in a nice way..LOL! so that next time he won't even make you an option! Hope you get relief soon!

ETA: My mom stayed with me for a while....and it drove me nuts...something about too many grown folks under one roof that doesn't add up!

Yep, 3 days at the MOST!  Kinfolks can get on nerves the most.  You love em and errything, but dangit sometimes they can be the pits.  Speaking of pits, he's bringing a puppy too??  I hope he AT Least, sets up an areas outside for it.  If not, hope it's potty trained.  I'm praying for strength right now cause my in-laws are coming over Chrstmas to stay till May and I know it want be fun, but I pray for patience for wifey's sake.

When I was in the military, I used to stay with grandma every time I went home.  It was no more than 3 days.  Then I started bringing wifey along and we cut it to about 2 days and maybe one with my auntie.  Now, since I got two kids and wifey, we book a room.  We might stay 1 day with grand, but after that it's the local Inn.  I know they don't mind, but I got small kids that can easily get on some nerves.

The nicest kinfolks can start to get on your nerves after a while.  Good luck with this one Boo.
