I have a question for my black american forum - When you experienced the hair loss what did you to help stop the shedding real bad and losing hair.  Need some tips; my hair is falling out and I wish to not be bald.  Any suggestions.

Increase your protein, have your vitamin levels checked, take biotin, take "hair...skin....nails" formula supplements, do non-intrusive hair styles....pin-ups...cornrow (not too tight)...no perms....wigs...weave...stress-free stuff....that's about all that I can think of.

Happy Healthy Hair to you!!!!

I wear a short do; so it is hard for me get cornrows.  I have started to wear half wigs.  I am planning on changing my vitamins and the new ones contain a lot more of the biotin.  Any suggestions as to the type of hair, skin nails formula.  Did you have this problem.

I haven't had this problem but I have dealt with many who have had hairloss for various reasons.  Hairloss is a very serious thing to some.  Most of the time when dealing with your body going through such major changes, the most fragile parts of the body suffers the most.  As long as you don't have damaged folicles, the hair will come back if you make the needed changes.  As far as suggesting a formula, I have no idea.  I always ask my pharmacist about vitamins and combinations for certain things.

It's kind of early in the morning for BAF.  I am sure that others will chime in to give you some advice as to what to try.  You can also do a search on hairloss and will find previous posts.

Best wishes!!!!

I just kept doing what I was doing. My dr. said it would slow down and I'm 9 months now post op and it has slowed down alot. Don't worry it will slow down. I also stopped using the curl iron and pressing comb as much. Wrapped my hair as much as I could.

Did you use a relaxer, wigs or weaves or braids.

I did relaxers....but I wanted to wear wigs but I couldn't find any I liked. I think the wigs would be best so your hair can rest and take a break.

Try Dr Miracle product they work for me . I wash my hair once a week and use their products I also keep my hair pull up and I don't put heat in it until the hair loss stops. My hair does not fall out as much. You can find these products at Walmart

My nutrionist recommended taking Biotin supplements. She said has lost a lot of hair, but when she started taking the supplements, it grew her hair back and then some. I just had my RNY but I included them in my daily vitamin intake so that I can hopefully ward off some of the hair lose.
At the moment, I am wearing a braided bun , but the girl who does my hair doesn't braid tight.
