Ayy yo,

I know a lot is going on with y'all concerning the drama of Tiger and all of his women, but there are other "thangs gwine on" in da news ya know.  Tell me BAF what is your take on these current items:

1.  Dinner-Gate: The couple that crashed the White House dinner party now say that a sista working for the White House gave the gate crashers the green light to attend.  I don't know 'bout y'all but I think sistagirl is going to be looking for a new job next week.

2.  Meredith Baxter-Birney from Family Ties is now out as a lesbian.  David Ogden-Stiers from M*A*S*H now says he's gay.  Anybody else besides me doesn't care that washed up TV show people wanna disclose their xes lives to the public 100 years after their show went off the air?

3.  Allen "AI" Iverson is going back to The Sixers.  I don't know about you but I would think that if I were in the NBA and I bounced all around the league and couldn't make it happen for myself and then have to go back "home" after all is said and done I would be highly embarrased.  I'd show up and cash my checks, but I'd be embarrassed.

What news items you got?  Holla atcha boy...

I think this is serious because they actually got close to the president and were not invited.  So something should be put in place to assure this never happens again.

Ditto to how you feel

LOL that whole situation is crazy but I wish AI the best.

The new name is cool!

Honestly, I want to see the gate crashers get jail time in a federal penitentiary but knowing how our benevolent president operates he'll pardon them before they bring out the orange jumpsuits for them.

From what I had been reading, the White House representative did try to get them an invitation but was not able and informed them of such.  They showed up anyway, claiming they never got the message.  This situation really worries me though, security is so slack.  Who the hell else can get through?

I agree that security is slack.  Can you imagine if the first lady's Jheri curled, gold-tooth laden cuzzins (hey we all got 'em) had showed up at the gate for dinner?   There would have been at least two days of network coverage on him standing there at the gate in a loud red suit with an English boulder on his head and she in a sequine dress from AJ Wright complete with missing rhinestones and fake diamond-like beads and hooker pumps waiting to get somebody to listen to them.

I saw that report as well.  However, that they never got a message back (or conveniently said they didn't) doesn't preclude them gaining access even though they weren't on the guest list.  For certain, if these gatecrashers had been, uh, darker in their appearance, shall I say, they would have been tossed UNDER a jail.

It boggle my mind that security was so lax for a POTUS who has, statistically, recieved the most death threats in U.S. history.

As for Tiger's situation, Alex P. Keaton's mom coming out, a has-been M.A.S.H actor coming out (big surprise there, eh?), two words: "who care?"

"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer."   Plutach.  Not true, for there are always more worlds to conquer.

my op:  this is gonna fall on the shoulders of my baby-favah's social secretary, i can't remember the sister's name but this morning, the chief of staff's office releases a statement that included instructions to her on or before the night of the dinner.  basically he said handle this event the way your predecessors have.  her predecessors had somebody at the gate standing alongside SS checking names.  think her decision to choose not to follow her boss' instructions is gonna cost her, maybe not her job but something.  still plenty of blame to go around, do i think the secret service messed up, hayle's yeah, but their task, which they failed, is security it isn't to check invitations. as for the fame*****s, falsifying information to a federal agent is a felony, all i want is for somebody to arrest them already!

stayin in my lane. dunno anything bout it but considering how much actual talent it takes and how rare it is to be a first string athlete in any league i'd brush my shoulders off and keep it movin.  from the few things i remember hearing though he might need to grow up and man up (is this the dude with the jail braids?)

Yep.  Jail braids and accompanying Kindergarten attitude.

I think the POTUS' Social Secretary is gonna have to take one on the chin for the team on this one unfortunately.  I predict that she'll be let go, her name dragged through the mud by the media, reports will come out that the White House never did a full background check on her and everyone will wonder how she got her job in the first place, and her name will become synonomous with the likes of Jezebel, Nimrod, and Omarosa.

I see suicide her future.

well now i just hafta know - if he's this hard to deal with, why did philadelphia take him back? was it a trade? could they have just told his people no?  what's he so pissy about anyway?

take one on the chin for the team is an interesting choice of words.  there might be 2 distinct but related issues involved:

1) breach of security
2) right of access to a white house social event

since they regularly intertwine one might be just as important as the other.  problem (again, just my op) is there's an entire team of people assigned to handle number 1.  there's one person assigned to handle number 2.   her defense is that she's not authorized to grant access so she didn't but the reason failure #2 would be entirely her fault is that she ignored her boss' instruction thereby contributing (largely, in my opinion) to putting him at risk.  her duty was to be at the gate with a clipboard, instead she walked the red carpet just like the selahis did.  if she's axed i don't think it's undeserved.  in all fairness tho if she goes, so should the head of the detail.

It was a trade - pro-atheletes only get to "suggest" where they wanna play.  The wealthy owners make the ultimate decision.  But in all fairness to AI (because I couldn't properly dissect his situation in this short space), if you ever get a chance to read his "bio" on Wikipedia it tells the story in my opinioin as to why he is the way he is.  But what I CAN'T figure out is why o'why, after all of the breaks that he got in life is he still the way he is.  (smh)

I hear ya but... that will never happen I'm afraid.  Haven't you ever watched an actioned-packed Tom Clancy novel-turned motion picture?  If you haven't, then in each one, just as in real-life, there is a pecking order of importance from the POTUS on down, which translates into expendability.  The head of detail is like #6 in relationship to the Commander in Chief, while the social secretary is like #309 on a good day.  Those numbers may seem grossly exaggerated but since she's not expected to take a bullet in the back covering/protecting the CIC as per her job description/function and she won't be expected to fire a firearm in his defense then she can be let go and will in this case I'm afraid.  Sad but true.
