Questions with clarification
Hey Cookie
To answer your question heck yeah and healthy behaviors are important to me, that's why I log on just about every day. I generally stay in lurk mode and chime in when I can.
So even though you don't see me, I'm here absorbing all of the do's and don'ts and I appreciate those who dare to post.
I still look however because I really would like to become a "regular" and get some AA perspective on how to make it through this journey. It's fun to read some of the "regulars" responses. You all are very funny at times . But this journey is difficult and not all "people" would understand quite like you "long-term regulars".
No offense to you Cookie this board is just funny like other boards and everyday life. I feel responses are made to whoever the deliverer may be. Someone post the other day "What is for lunch" post and received maybe 3 comments. Whereas you can make that post and have people come out of woodwork and respond.
I really only visit this board during the workday because FB is blocked from my job . I respond to some not all post. I have been faithfully been coming to board for almost 8 years and will continually do so, it is just some days the repeated questions get old sometimes.

So true Rhonda
We all know it's a popularity thing on the board most time. Weight loss and exercise just don't pull the hits like someone starting **** or talking sex. It's all truth.
I log on daily, but mostly stay in lurk mode because ... shhh... I'm sneaking a peak at work. Now, I have posted a few responses here and there like now, but I'm on my lunch break. I mainly stay over on the RNY board reading each and everything about this surgery, and other people's questions and situations. At 14 months out, I still feel like there is a lot to learn and I rely on everyone to feed my desire to learn.
As for vitamins, protein, water and exercise... I'm on it. I just don't post about it.
Those of us who have been here for a while...sometimes hearing the same question for the 500th time gets old. So after a while, you just quit answering. That is NOT to the offense of newbies AT ALL...we are all just at different places in our journeys.
I think for some folks, they feel about as 'normal' as they ever have and maybe after a while get sick of the focus on WLS.
Some people get quiet because they KNOW they are doing flat out wrong and don't want to show their faces...these are the ones that lie about their sizes and loss...which you never know until you hit up a Meet N Greet.
A lot of us STILL struggle!!!! And that is the sucky part!!! No more days of dropping off those pounds without really trying. While you are STILL trying to wrap your head around your new body/size, reality bites you in the azz after a while...that much of this is temporary...that what many of us now know is that we should have used our honeymoon period to REALLY get our mind and eating habits right.
And as everyone always like to say...this surgery is on our bodies, not our minds! I may have lost 150+ pounds, but I'm the biotch who still loves carbs and HATES working out! But I still make myself hit the gym a few times a week...and at 5 1/2 years out, I can say right now that when I weighed myself this AM, I am only 3lbs up from where I LIKE. I can live with that.
In all honesty, I never considered BAF to be the place where I would ask for WLS advice. This more of an OT type of place. There are unique challenges for Black folks when it comes to this surgery, I remember DeeDee hitting on that quite eloquently before. But honestly, I think if someone wants to find a place more focused, they should look to their particular surgery board. As times pass, so does the torch. I remember many of the people who helped me out when I was a newbie around ANYWHERE anymore.
I stay on OH because it keeps my mind fresh as to what I SHOULD be doing, even if I don't always do it.
