 @ TOTAL buffoonery!!!!

I expected it to be classy, but when I saw Debra Lee, President & CEO of BET & Centric, come out looking like she was on her way to a house party with Kid 'n Play, I just bowed my head in shame.

I did not even attempt to watch it.  It seems the show has met my expectations from BET.  Someone in this thread used the term buffoonery.  Yeah, thats what the 'B' in BET stands for.

Buffoonery Entertainment Television shamelessly brings you the stripper Pole hoe Train awards.  Sponsored by companies smart enough to know that if they sponsor this smut they are bound to see an increase in profits cause some black folks have lost their dignity so much until they will buy anything shiny and overpriced.

It was awful!  I watched for only a few minutes and thought " same **** different day".  That is a sad commentary for the amount of talent that is in our community.  It is so poorly represented!

Mrs. Charlie last name Wilson's outfit left a lot of cloth to be desired.  Cover up the guurrls, Yo, when you got girls and boys watching you applaud for your man.  Sheesh.

My main man, Melle Mel (I can't front, I'm old skool Hip Hop) still had the store tag for his hat attached to the hat while he was onstage.  You'd think that since Bob Johnson souled out...  er... um... excuse me, sold his stake in BET to Viacom they'd try to bring them up a lot better than that right?

I thought I was seeing thangs on Melle Mel's hat!!!  I too thought Taraji & Terrance would bring a little class to the joint, but I was dead WRONG.  I really only wanted to see the salute to Chaka Khan.  I spent most of the time switching to other channels!  It is ssssssssssooooooooooo embarrasing to see that mess. I instantly remembered why I never watch those types of shows!

And can someone tell me what the point of Centric is?????

Supposedly, Centric is formerly BET on JAZZ/BET-Jazz/BETJ.  They are trying to make Centric a general interest channel geared towards African-American adults, which, in my opinion, will most likely mean 24-hour marathons of Good Times and Sanford and Son for no good reason just as soon as those shows get kicked out of TVLand.
