Hello and good luck on your new life change.

I find that I love the taste of Muscle Milk and OhYeah.  Both come in already made servings at the Vitamin Shoppe or even some grocery stores.

Hello,

I am not sure whether there is a Vitamin Shoppe where i live but i will definetly check. I was told by a lady in GNC that to make sure  i drink my protein shake everyday and that will keep my hair from falling out. That is the only thing that scares me, is losing my hair, because it's not like i have a lot any way. Did you experience hair lost?

I love Oh Yeah! Ready-to-Drink (Bananas & Cream and Strawberries & Cream) and Bariatric Eating's Inspire powders. The unflavored powder is my favorite. You can mix it with anything...coffee, V8 Fusion Light, Crystal Light, fruit, soups, etc. You can order both brands from Bariatric Eating. Vitamin Shoppe has Oh Yeah! only in chocolate and vanilla. It is very important to find a shake that you like early. I hated every shake I tried. I didn't find a shake I could drink everyday until almost five years post-op.Best wishes with your surgery!

Hello,

I didn't know that after surgery you can mix protein shake with anything. I was told that some drinks will make you sick if your not careful. I just assumed that you had to drink the shake alone with nothing added to it. Is Vitamin Shoppe the only store that sales Oh Yeah?

There are so many on the market right now and you will find that things you try and like before surgery,  will gross you out after surgery.  I'm almost 4 years post-op and I've always used Syntrax Nectar brand of shakes.  My favorites are Vanilla Bean, Roadside Lemonade and Twisted Cherry.  I get the most variety out of those but I like them all.  Unjury brand Vanilla and Chicken Soup flavors are good as well.

Don't stock up on too many, here are a few websites where you can order samples.

Congrats on your surgery date, that's a great way to start the New Year!

Hello,

Thanks for the Info. Which surgery did you have? I hear with the lap band you can eat almost the same things as before and it won't make you sick.

my surgeon always told me to get my protein through food and not a drink so for about 6 years that's what I did.  I just started buying the powders and ready to drink shakes in the past couple of years.  I get mine from Walmart or Vitamin Shoppe.

Hello,

I see you had surgery a while ago. When you had your surgery were there any side effects that you experienced, such as nausea or hair loss? I don't have surgery until January 14. I will check into different flavors of some protein shakes before i have the surgery so i will be use to drinking the shake for the next few weeks after surgery.
