Yes, the book was BEYOND intense...and I have to co-sign with Marlo...I wanted to put it down and keep reading it at the same time. I haven't seen the movie yet, I think I want to wait until I can watch it in the privacy of my home. My husband doesn't even know if he WANTS to see it. Get the book, Lisa. It is haunting.

It is a great movie. Made me feel so blessed for having a good set of Folks.

One thing that got me upset...why was there so much laughter in the audience when I saw the movie? Here I am crying and half the audience is crackin' up?

I'll BL you and tell me if this is was inappropriate....

Some folks just can't take anything serious for real. I'd like to see them take excerpts from that movie and have the kids analyze it in a classroom environment...relate some of that to their own lives.,...while I know that some of those kids have no experiences no where near as horrid....I am sure it can be broken down where they can relate on some level. Only problem...most of them were there for entertainment not to learn anything or gain any insight... That why they were acting dayum fools...I am sure .

Unfortunately it's not playin in my area, so I may go down to the lou next weekend to see it. Do I need a purse pack tissues or will it be better just to bring regular size box?

You will need at least a purse pack but if you want to make a profit...better bring the regular size box like someone else suggested. There weren't too many dry eyes in there during certain scene. It would be worth the extra mileage to go see it.

We've been hardened by entertainment. We watch bad **** happen to people on tv shows daily. Some intellectually challenged souls can't think beyond the screen. They cannot see this girl is living with them and in their world. They totally isolated and remove her from the world like she is a raped hooker in a grand theft auto video game. No one ever taught them empathy. Based on a true story is a film tagg line to them. Just my purely unscientific armchair psychology curtesy of free wi fi at JAX, yea.

Good Morning D. your talking about the movie was right on time.! I was just checking show times for today, and then was giving it a 2nd thought, like maybe I don't want to see this movie today, maybe i'm not ready.........maybe I don't feel like being that deep in emotion today.

I know it's the kind of movie that stays in your head and heart for awhile...................I do that a lot anyway, without ta movie.
