Okay I'm Pissed Right Now

 First let me give you some background....a while back I had a post about the new disney movie the frog princess....I was pissed because I saw no enchantment in being named a frog..I'm saying you have Snow White, Sleeping Beauty etc etc..not to mention the frog princess was going to be out of New Orleans and her name Hattie

So I think its been one year later now and her the title of the movie has changed to the princess AND the frog...wonder how come they didn't call it Princess hattie and the frog....so anyways

I'm watching Entertainment tonight...you know how they always have this build-up stay tuned thing...well tonight's build up stay tuned thingee was SUPPOSE TO BE the Princess and the Frog movie clip...

sidenote: I am one of those folks that really really wants to feel good about this movie...I want disney to come correct since this is their first time having a Black princess...and most of you all buy into their stock got all kind of Snow White backpacks, blankets, clothing, shoes in your black princesses rooms (okay okay) sorry for the ranting but this shiot kinda got me heated

So anyway when the clip came up....whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy was it a clip about dusty ol' sound of music dick van dyke????? They showed the Black princess every little bit of 2 seconds if that!

I know to some of you think is petty....but I was really trying to rally behind disney...afterall they had Princess Hattie jackets in Kmart....I was really looking forward to the day when I saw little Black Girls rocking Black Princesses....I really was....but disney is going about this the entirely wrong way!

Okay rant over now

Naw it ain't that was some bullshiot!! I'm saying even though they have her hooking up with a non-black man I was still rooting for them to do it...I'm hurt yawl...I'm hurt...lol

Imo, I think the movie may be a shady anyway from the limited previews I've seen.   The characters spee*****luding that of the princess reminds me of the old clips I've seen of the Amos & Andy show, back in the day.   What kind of jacked up mess is that?  The characters in disney's the Lion King sound more educated & more intelligent than these characters.  Like i said, I've seen very limited previews, so I could be wrong so my jury is out on that one for now.
We don't need the entertainment industry to play us in a steriotypical fashion & in a cartoon of all things!

Which may be why they only showed a brief clip.

Gurrrrrrrrrrrrrllllllllllllllllllllllll we are soooo here! We have been truly searching channels looking for previews of the movie...so I finally get one and its about Dick Van Dyke really???

Like I said I was really hoping to see our little Princesses wearing something different...sorry call me what you want....I want to see BLACK PRINCESSES being worn by our BLACK PRINCESSES...we have bought into disney's dream far tooooo long! What about ours??

And to think I use to work for them....LMAO

 Well I certainly agree with u.  I am glad I have sons and they are out of that disney stage.  Now I would like to add on to my issue with this black princes.  Why is it just because it set in New Orleans they have to talk like with such broken Ebonics.  Even with the poor white trash princess they spoke correct grammar.  Just for that alone I would have no interest in seeing this.  I know and understand this is only a cartoon but that shows what those racist people at disney really think of us.  

Oh oh oh hold up hold up.....are you telling me she speaks with broken english as well????

Please don't tell me that...I didn't know this...because they haven't shown enough previews

See, it's not just me.  The preview was playin as I was coming into the theater for the MJ movie & couldnt believe my ears.  Ro, think black folks in gone with the wind or the black driver in the charlie chan movies.  So, guess if you ain't heated now, you really be on hellfire heat, when you hear the dialogue.

Why do peeps THINK that having a black president sorry MULTIRACIAL President will change the way people view the black race?? Having a black president is wonderful HOWEVER like Al Sharpton preached at church on Sunday (yes he was visiting Big D) we still have  longggggggggggggggg way to go before we're not judged by the color of our skin.....

 Well from what I've seen on the commercial she speaks grammatically correct but everyone else speaks like they did in ROOTS.
