OT - Freaky Friday pt. 2: You go, gurrrrl...

Ayy yo,

Ladies, would you let your man wear make up for any reason?  Fellas, would you wear it if she suggested it to you for whatever reason?

Back when I first started going gray, a lady friend of mine suggested that I try hair-dye to help hide the wayward strands on my head.  So I did it and it worked for a minute.  But, those pesky suckers started showing up in my "stash" (moustache) and whiskers (beard). 

 PSA - Fellas, Don't - Don't - DON'T!!! use hair-dye on your stash and your whiskers.  You'll end up looking like something out of a 1810 minstrel show!

But I digress...

My friend then came back and suggested to me that I use mascara on my stash and whiskers to help me hide the gray.  I just could not bring myself to use make-up on myself.  What would BAF do?  Holla atcha boy.  

I would except him the way he is!!!! So, no make up!!!!!

Why would any of us wanna hide the gray whiskers?  I don't know about you, but I think they make the fellas look kinda cool.  Just my humble opinion..

                                                                  ...until I was in a store buying something one day and the ghetto chick behind the counter asked me if I was shopping for my grand-kids.  I ran home and shaved my face clean after that. 




 

Now THIS is interesting.......

Foundation to cover a skin issue.... ok
lil spot coloring for the stash or goatee..... dats cool

eyeshadow of ANY sort - nope
blush - heyl naw
lipstick - it's SO over!!!!!!

I also can't roll with a dude who's facial routine is tougher than mine.  Had a dude that spent two hours on facials - including a required ice cube rub..... HUH???  um - naw, cuz - can't hit with a dude if I am wondering why the ice cube is REQUIRED........

How bad a skin issue?  If you ran into a burning building to save a child's favorite teddy bear - fine, but if you just got post-puberty pimples or a silly skin rash - Nah, homie.

I swear some katz primp more than a woman.  One of my boys back in the day used to go through an hour or so of bathroom time and clothes-prep just to go shoot some pool with the boyz.  What the???

I agree with Dalexis, although i do realize that to some degree we are a vain society and we each have our own vain tendencies. While I would not recommend to my man that he wear makeup(hmmph) or even dye his hair, if he did and it makes him feel better about himself then I will love and support him either way. I get blonde higlights in my hair all the time because it looks good and I feel good when I look good. So I think the same thing applies.

So if he asked you to give his perm a touch-up you'd be with it?

If that's what he needs. Being in a relationship (no matter what kind) is about give and take. Your partner should be an enhancement of the great you and a person willing to do those kinds of things for thier partner, to me, in an enhancement.

Now if in fact my dude does have a perm then I am paying hell $$$$$ for my hair cause there is no way his ish is going to look better than mine.

Hell when Katt Williams first special came out I ran to the dayum salon!!!!!!
