Welcome and congratulations.  Advice, well I agree with the general consensus.

Research every single available surgery before that appointmrnt.  Understand the reasons physical and mental for your peronal obesity issues.  Understand your goals in addition to weight loss and how your surgery will impact them.  A larger stomach vs a smaller pouch vs flexible restriction levels are best suited to people with different types of eating behaviors and metabolic histories.  Know all the cons of each procedure, they all have a downside and what is a con for one may be a pro for another.  I say this because rny was my third choice procedure but it turned out to be right for me.   Having rejected it I agreed to it two weeks prior to the procedure.  I stopped looking at the "informatiion" and reevaluated based on me and me alone.

Last, stop eating more.  Food won't go out of style.  You don't want to gain while you wait and you don't want a fatty liver.  Start exercising, reduce your fats and carbs by making more wls friendly food choices.  Eat more protein to promote post op healing.  My surgeon has patients start on protein shakes, 50g daily the moment he takes you on as a patient.  Enjoy in modest amounts the things you won't have for awhile.  No need to gorge, much of what you like will be fine to eat again one day.
