I am not from Atlanta but I go there a lot, mainly north atlanta and far-south atlanta suburbs(I have family that lives in those two areas). Really it depends on what you want to do and how far your willing to travel. I know the hampton area is somewhat off the beaten path of Atlanta.

How far you and your husband willing to travel....or do you just want to stay in the hampton area?

I live in Stockbridge which is also  in Henry County.

I am not sure where to shop for clergy robes. Maybe you can Google some sources.

As far as dining your options are limitless. Try Paschals where many of the Civil Rights leaders met to plan marches, etc.

The kids will enjoy Stone Mountain Park. They should be doing something for the holidays at the crossroads exhibit and should be doing the laser show on weekends.

There are lot's of museums: Atlanta Aquarium, Carter Center, MLK historic sight and home,  Center for Puppetry Arts...

There is not much to do in Hampton. DO they even have a post office??? It is a VERY small town!

The nearest dining will be on hwy19/41 (Tara Blvd) in Jonesboro or hwy 20/81 in McDonough. Nothing spectacular I can think of to mention, just the regular Applebees, Red Lobster, Ryan's Buffett, etc.

If you have the time I really think the kids will enjoy Stone Mtn. There is even a Plantation tour, Antique car museum, riverboat ride, train, skylift, golf, walking trails, pic nic areas, shopping, 3-d movie...  They will have fun and get some Civil War history too. Check the website for pricing and info.  The all actraction pass gives unlimited access to all the park attractions.

There is a great restaurant in Crossroads at the park which will be very entertaining for the kids. I won't tell you the secrets, so I won't spoil the surprise.

They have a stay and play package whi*****ludes lodging, breakfast, and park passes that is very reasonable priced.  I am not sure if you have made accomadation arrangements. If not look into staying there at the Evergreen Resort.

Plan to spend a full day, and take blankets for the laser show.
