surgery complete
What to do now? I have been trying to get in all my liquids, but right now I am drained. I have started my protein shakes. This more than I expected. I was not as prepared as I thought. Mentally I would love some food, but physically .....no......Im not hungery which is a surprise seeing how I don't eat much of anything. Overall, I am very happy with my decision. I know in the long run I am going to be more healthy. My blood pressure has already gone back to normal without medicine, so that is a plus. Any words of inspiration would help. Tell me what you did to get in all the liquids and how you made it through the first week or two..thanks in advance

Take it ONE MOMENT at a time. Right now you will not get in all of your liquids. Get in as much as you can and just add a little each day IF you can tolerate it. Be encouraged because it does get better.
Congrats on lowering the BP.

One moment at a time. Love the words of encouragement. I am trying to get in as much liquids as I can to avoid dehydration. I never thought I would be saying this, but it is just so much. lol. My hubby has to get use to me drinking 2 tablespoons of water and feeling full. He is use to me eating a large plate of food and drinking some juice or soda. I am going to take it one day at a time. I will wait for the day when I can exercise. I most excited about exercise. I feel like this was the best decision.

You are doing exactly what you need to do. I found it most helpful to use a timer and an alarm clock the first few weeks as reminders to eat or drink. I also kept a log of what I consumed. I know this might sound crazy but I found that I did better when I drank out of the little medicine cups that hold 15-30 cc. I am a prissy girl...so I came home to my crystal champagne glasses as my daily drinkware. They hold exactly 4oz. I also went to Target and got several of the dipping sets (the small bowls that people put dipping sauces in), appetizer plates, 4oz sundae cups and luncheon plates. All of these things I still use.
Good to hear that you are excited. Keep that thought going and you will make it to goal!!!!!!!

Sip. The water, the protein, all other liquids. Just sip slowly all day. No forcing. Sip.
Not many people get all the liquids down in the very beginning. Sipping constantly reduces the risk of becoming dehydrated. Keep track of how much liquid you are getting and aim to add an ounce or two each day until you hit your target. That's what worked for me.
Fantastic news about the bp. Welcome to the looser's
