WLS "OG's" and Dating

Not that I have to worry about this yet...but I was wondering when dating a 'normal' person do you reveal that you used to be fat?  Never? Yes? At the beginning? Or after awhile after you put that thang on them? Do you break out the before photos? Or are the only pics around the house "afters?'

Just curious

For ME...I chose to tell him after just two weeks into our relationship.  We had only  been to the movies  and out to eat a couple of times and the band had not showed out yet so I thought I had better tell him before the band did...LOL...with one of her episodes of getting stuck.  I showed him my before pictures and advised him if he did not want to see me anymore that I would understand but that I thought he should know.  His reply...I am not going anywhere.  BTW, he had not gotten any "cookies" then.  He recently went to the OH convention with me in Dallas and he has been totally amazed by my transformation as well as some of my friends transformations.

Prior to this, I was in a relationship with a guy for about five years and who knew the larger me nad was beginning to see me transform. He initially tried to talk me out of WLS and my most recent surgery. However, I wanted what was best for me and I decided to proceed with both surgeries anyway. I think he was beginning to become jealous of the new me and he had become a total control freak.  I did not give him any reason to be, it just happens that way. So, our relationship ended.

That's great you have someone that accepts you...all of you past and present. I was dating a guy last summer right before my wls (not serious) and he did not want me to get it. I was like RED FLAG!!Later for him!!!!!!

That would have been a RED FLAG for me too.

Its funny you ask this... I chose not to reveal it and learned some surprising things about people I was getting to know in the process. Went out dancing one night and this sexy BBW was cuttin' a rug on the dance floor... and my date said, "Watch out now, look at her representin' for the big girls!" I was floored and didn't know how to respond... that's my team she represents (in my head) but seeing as how I'm now a 6/8, that's hardly true for my physical self. I revealed to him that I had surgery later and he was supportive, so I'm glad it went over well... despite the initial discomfort.

I was curious...dating is so hard anyway and then add wls to the mix! My friend has a guy that likes heras she is now and she is keeping her wls secret from him because he is always making rude comments about big people. I would not feel comfortable with someone like that!

Interesting question!  I have played it both ways - but my pouch is a *****!!!!  she won't open up when i'm out on a dinner date - so I always have to answer as to why I ain't hungry......  then when I get home, I can eat a whole damn house!!!  LMAO

Because of the scars from my plastics - it's an inevitable convo in the bedroom - but I'm a pretty open person anyway - so telling it isn't really a big issue.  What I have had issue with is one dude really balking and laughing at my befores saying 'ain't no WAY I would have talked to you then...' - it wasn't WHAT he said but HOW he said it.... homie had to GO!

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

Ok I just started seeing someone (kinda) LOL. He loves to cook and is always trying to feed me. I told him I lost 85 pounds and I am still trudging away trying to get some more off of me. So I watch what I eat and I don't eat much at one sitting. I didn't tell him about the surgery. This thing is very very very new with us and I am not sure he is going to be around for the long haul so I haven't gotten into specifics with him as of yet. But I know he finds it really strange that when I say small portions I actually mean baby portions. LOL.

I know right..the wls issue for me is kinda private...I'm no Star Jones when it comes to it, but Im not exactly shouting it off the rooftops. Epecially to a person that I don't know well male or female!
