When you love someone....

I show my love through my actions. Getting up and starting your car when its cold outside, sending her flowers every third Wednesday of the month with a hand written "I Love You", going the extra mile in any situation to let her know that she is the one that I adore and love, making her candle lit bath water so when she get home she can relax, doing household chores that she would normally do, there is a list of things. I always believed that loving someone required that you make-love to their emotional being, before you even go as far as the physical. That's why it is so important through your actions to show your love.
I also love through my words. Last serious relationship I was in, I wrote down or emailed myself all the time I wanted to tell her/did tell her; she was beautiful or I loved her, etc.. Then every two weeks I would give her this letter, that listed every day and time of those instances. To me that is a way to show someone I LOVE YOU. Not just saying, "I Love You Girl"
Far as my loved ones or my family, we are very close knit, we look out for each other on all levels. We have our issues but we still look out for each other. When it comes to family/loved ones I show my love through letting them know "I have your back, I'm looking out for you"

Love to be treated like royalty...
but
sometimes it can be too much....we have been togather for 3 years...and since we live togather, romantic gestures come naturally for both of us. So I dont need rose petal baths once a week.....or flowers like clock work...
I like more spontaneity, it lets me know that hes not thinking about me because he has to, but because he wants to.
(ex. last sunday instead of going to play bball with his boys, he left out the house at his usual time but came back in 20min. with movies and fuddruckers (my favorite place for turkey burgers) and we spent the day watching movies eating burgers and humping)
Also.....I really dont see him doing chores as a guesture of love either because, hes a grown ass man and needs to pick up after himself..lol

I guess it depends on the relationship. What I do is natural, I don't mark on my calendar of what I am going to do special for my woman.
And I mean chores I normally wouldn't do, like telling her I will clean up the whole house and do the laundry, you just sit and relax today.
To each is own, we all have to do what works best in our relationships.
Additionally, maybe what I DO, does sound sound like overkill to you. But I was raised to treat a woman like everyday is her birthday, because with out women no one would be here. I was always told that although it takes a man too, its a woman who endures nine months of agony to give birth to "life". Any woman that is ready to be, the ying to my yang, be the mother of my children, put up with me, satisfy me intellectually & sexually, and hold down my house with me, deserves the right to be treated like a queen and her value is infinite. So I may do a lot of things for her that may be considered "over the top" to others, but I will do it because she gives so much of herself to be with me and she completes me.
