Feeling Sick
Help! Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night feeling nausea, when this occurs I can't sleep or drink anything. Sometimes it last for hours or just a few mins. Does anyone know why this occurs? My Dr. has been NO F&%$ help to me. In fact I don't plan on seeing his azz any time soon. I knew this was a bad idea. In fact I dreamed it one night.
That used to happen to me early post op, you could try a few things. Eat something protein rich just before bed to get you through the night. What are you trying to eat or drink when you wake up?
Sometimes when I would wake up, I made hot tea and that settled my stomach. What exactly is a bad idea? If you have concerns, I would definitely see the doc....NOT going could make the matter worse. Make him listen to your concerns.

Are you eating too close to bed time? If you are, then try to stop eating at least three hours before you lay down. When you lay down with a full stomach, it can make you regurgitate and nauseous. I know it does for lapbanders and for me, even before I had surgery sleeping on a full stomach was really hard on me.
My dr. had to eventually give me a rx that is given for cancer patients called zofran because I wouldn't eat or drink. It melts under your tongue and it helped so much. I had some complications the first 5 wks after my surgery so this got me on track. Now I drink ginger or peppermint tea. Hope you feel better soon. It could be a delayed reaction to something you're eating so keep a log of what you're eating and drinking.
Zofran sure got me out of my slump because when my surgeon said he was going to put me back in the hospital because I wasn't getting nutrients, I think my hubby was ready to pour protein drinks and water down my throat. lol I didn't want to go back in so this was the ticket and I got it from my pcp.
