OT: RINGS?
What is your experience/opinion on removing engagement/wedding rings.
I tend to agree with everyone else on this. When I was fed up th ring was removed. Like D says I love youbut I LOVE ME MORE!!! So goodbye.
If having relationship/marriage problems...when does one stop wearing the ring? A really, really bad argument? Separation? Final Divorce?
In a marriage/divorce situation you know when enough is enough and not wearing a ring at that point doesn't matter. I don't think an arguement is reason enough to stop wearing your rings but if the problem extends farthur than that then you have to start looking at what's best for you.
If your partner stops wearing their ring...what message is being sent?
I would say it depends on the situation.

My ex-husband supposedly "lost" his wedding band and I replaced it. Then he "lost" it again....but "found" another one similar to the one he had at a pawn shop. That one was "eventually" lost too. I had 2 sets of wedding rings but after loosing 140 pounds, neither one fit any more so I stopped wearing them. One day, I discovered that one of those sets had mysteriously disappeared too! Funny how as soon as I filed for divorce and he moved out...my stuff stopped mysteriously disappearing!
I still have my original rings and will occasionally wear the
engagement ring as an accessory. Sometimes I'll fla**** to guys that I don't want to be bothered with and tell them I'm married so they will leave me alone.
Sorry, I didn't really answer your question....this just brought back bad memories.

OMG! You too? I wasn't going to respond because of the memories but I feel you there. My marriage was "ova" when hommie decided to take my wedding band and have it "resized" for me while I was out of town? HUH? Are you kidding? Girl that was the last straw. I too was mad naive and didn't know the signs of a "crack head" BUT I tell you one thing, I sure KNOW now!!!! Fool me once? Fool me twice? HELL NAW.....
But you do live and you do learn... Girl A "crackhead" can't walk by me now.... I KNOW THE SCENT!!! Life is really a trip....
But we ALL make it through with the help and the grace of God....

I don't know...
From reading all of the stories and posts it seems to me that if one of the two takes the ring off just to get a rise out of the other one AND the other "takes the bait" by getting upset at that move, then it seems like the two both still want to fight for the marriage but neither one wants to lose.
My solution: switch fingers that ya wear it on. That says to them, "I didn't like that **** that you did but I'm not going to stoop all the way to your level. ...just part of the way, Ninja!"

I removed my rings at first because I was pregnant and they were getting tight. That was 17 years ago. Our most serious problems emerged after the birth of our daughter. I never put them back on. He didn't notice and if he did, he didn't care. Just a side note, my wedding ring, after being sized, kept breaking. No matter how many times or different jewelers I took it too, it would not mend. Oman??? Yea, just a little.....
Hi Doug!
Mine came off after the separation. At that point, I knew it was over for me. Don't know when his came off cause I was gone. LOL
Removal of the ring (besides something like size or cleaning) indicates a problem *for me*. I would only take mine off when there was no question that the relationship was over. This might not be the case for everyone, but thats my feeling.
