Dr. Says I Am Not Eating Enough!!!!! What?
Dr. Kim says I should be eating 1100-1200 calories per day and about 5 ounces by volume each meal - 3 meals and 3 snacks per day. Also, I am eating too much protein at the start of my meals and not leaving any room for veggies. So, I start with protein and get full and stop eating before I get any measurable amount of veggie in. I cut out my oatmeal for breakfast thinking it was just too many carbs. Mistake. I need to add that back into the mix a few days per week. Also, I am not using my Benefiber like I used to. He says that it really does help you lose weight.
The good news is that my protein, calcium, and other levels are within normal range. So, at least I wasn't that jacked up.
He also advised that I am at a point where I will go 4 weeks without losing and then lose 5-7 pounds the next month; as long as I re-vamp my eating plan and start eating more calories per day, I should see a change. Oh, and stay active with my exercise along with it. Hot mess. Here I have been watching the caloric intake for nothing!
My surgeon told me the same exact thing a few weeks ago, I thought that I was doing good with 3 meals a day and learned that I should be eating 6 + snacks. I upped the eating even having a few sweets here and there, upped the protein and water and now the weight and inches are flying off. I am loving this vsg...I can be greedy.

I hope this puts it into perspective for you.
A month or so post op my surgeon told me to get 1100 calories and I was terrified to eat so much. I could not handle that much food and I already was not loosing and struggling with weight gain.
I've since learned that when my calories drop too low, the wl stops and I gain a few pounds. Now I plan my meals based on my resting metabolic rate and avoid a calorie deficit over 1500 on any given day.
Interesting fact, loosing just every other month. It may help explain my weight loss pattern.
