My daughters teacher

My daughter brought home a detention slip from school saying that she had been disruptive in class. I asked her what had happened since she has never been in trouble at school.

She proceeds to tell me that another girl threw a book at her and when she told the girl to knock it off the teacher got mad. The teacher wouldn't even listen to what happened just wrote up a slip and sent my daughter to the hall.

I'm looking over the slip while signing it, and my daughters name isn't even spelled right. I flip the slip over and write a note to the teacher. I basically asked her why my daughter was getting a detention for another student throwing a book. I then further stated that if she was going to write my daughter up she could at least spell her name correctly.

My daughter comes home today and tells me that the teacher pulled her out of another class to question her about what happened. She should have done that in the first place I'm thinking.

The teacher was wrong.

I would have written her this note:

"It is totally out of character for my daughter to disrespect her teachers by misbehaving in the classroom.  I am requesting that you please follow up on this and find out more details about what happened yesterday.  I will contact you so that we can sit down and have a conference in order to avoid any future misunderstandings.

I want my daughter to be successful in your class and I am willing to do my part to help you.

Kindest regards,
So Blessed"
