New to BAF
Hey everybody,
After a month or so of lurking on the RNY board I decided to check out some of the other forums here on OH. So here I am.
This has been a relatively short journey for me. I didn't seriously start looking into WLS until May or June. I mean, I've ALWAYS struggled with my weight, yo-yo dieted, etc but never thought I was "big enough" to go the surgical route. Anyway, I went to an info session on 6/27, had an initial consult on 7/7, went through the Lifestyle Management Program (psych eval, exercise specialist, NUT) on 7/21, was submitted around 8/24 and approved around 8/26, and here I am... about to have surgery on 10/30. I was supposed to start my 2-week liquid diet tomorrow but since it is my bday the surgeon gave me a "pass" and is allowing me to start on Saturday. I'm excited, nervous, anxious, slightly terrified, hopeful... you name it. Despite the wave of emotions, I am SOOOOO ready for this.
I guess that's all for now. I'm always open to advice, suggestions, even constructive criticism, so all you WLS "ol'heads" can feel free to rain on me!
Oh, and for those of you addicted to Facebook like myself, PM me and I'll add you. Though I tend not to discuss WLS on my stats, my friends and I have a ball tripping out nonetheless! lol
Welcome to the BAF family.....I'm the quiet middle child LOL! Things are sailing along for you in a wonderful way make sure you use the next weeks to learn everything you can about your surgery of choice. The ultimate goals are to sail though an uneventful surgery and recovery with long term weightloss.
I wish you much success and no matter what, make sure you stay connected to OH or some type of WLS support group on a long term basis it will make a difference.
Change is a Process Not an Event
Blessings,
Michelle
