New here!
Hello all. My name is Ebony and I am 28 years old. I am new to the site and decided to join because I am seriously thinking about getting the Realize Lap Band. I am so scared of the complications though. I have to get this weight off of me because it is killing me...literally. If you have had the Lap Band or thinking about getting it, please send me a friend request because I'm gonna need all of the support that I can get!
As they say in some of the "Old Baptist Churches"....Welcome Once, Welcome Twice, Welcome Three times in the name of Jesus Christ. lol! No for real welcome to BAF, *Coughs*-the best place on the internet tied with Facebook, I am a facebook junkie..lol!
Welcome, from what I have heard from my firends who have had the Lapband, it is the least complicated surgery there is. There are some wonderful ladies on here who have had the lapband that could tell you all about. I am sure Faith will be popping up here pretty soon. lol!
Blessing & Love,
Micah P.

Hello Ebony and BAF, my name is Shawn and I am also pretty much new to the BAF forum, Ebony I am not getting the Lap Band but I definitely do understand where you are coming from. As I dont know much about it I think most of us here just try to stick together no matter what kind of surgery the other has/or planning to have. So, welcome aboard trust you will meet some very nice people on this forum and they will definitely make you laugh as well. I can't offer advice on your surgery but if you need any emotional support I'm a great listener. You can PM me anytime if you feel like talking.
Hello Ebony and welcome to OH/BAF. I have had the Lap Band for over 2.5 years and I am happy with my results. I will be happy to offer you support. There are a few other bandsters who normally post and they are helpful too. Good luck to you as you start the process.
People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas. ~Author Unknown
Hello Ebony Welcome Welcome Welcome!!! I am a newbie just had my Lapband procedure on 9/23/09. I have not had any complications thus far. I was up and mobile same day. I had surgery in the am and by 7pm I was home. My friend also had surgery same day and she was home by 9pm that evening. I am enjoying my journey thus far. I was really sore for the first few days by day 4 it was really mild. I took pain meds the first couple of days. It really was not as bad as I thought it would be. The gas was my biggest problem, but it appears that evryone has issues w/gas after surgery. Little gasx and walking as much as possible helped. I have not had my first fill as of yet but I have lost 14 pounds since surgery. I wish you great sucess as you travel your journey. I love this forum I dont typically post, but love reading. Again, welcome!!
