Today is My One Year Anniversary
Actually, yesterday was my one year anniversary and I didn't even remember until I checked my e-mail. How did I celebrate? By going to Sizzler's all-you-can-eat salad bar with my mom. I won't even say what I ate. I haven't been here in a while. In fact, I haven't really done anything related to my weight-loss surgery in a while.
I started feeling really discouraged around April. That's when my hair started falling out. I also passed out at work because I take medication for epilepsy and I had lost 55 pounds without having my meds adjusted. For some reason, I didn't connect the two. The result is that I haven't been motivated to continue with the program. The med issue was worked out. I'm freaked out by the hair loss, though. Once my weight loss stopped, my hair loss slowed down a bit.
I just feel alone. There really isn't any support system at Cedars Sinai's weight-loss surgery clinic.
Luckily, I was halfway to my goal in April. I haven't gained any weight back (I flip-flop within 5 pounds). For my next year, I hope to lose the other 55 pounds and figure out how to maintain this for the rest of my life.

May not be where I want to be but I glad to be where I'm at.
Working at getting the rest of the way.
12/10/2012 I'll be having LBL, BL/BA, thigh & arm lift, eyelid
Body by Dr. Sauceda booked to 12/9--12/22
The drug issue really does a job on us post op especially since so many can slow weight loss or even cause weight gain. Now that you know to keep those meds in check get some biotin for the hair loss, remember you do have a support system on BAF, and get back on your program. Don't forget your annual labs and follow up with your surgeon. You'll get there if you want it bad enough.

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
My dad, who is very blunt but also not really informed/interested in the details of weight loss surgery and maintenance, told me that he thinks I've lost enough weight. I told him that, according to my last BMI, I am still obese and that I want to lose another 60 pounds. He told me that was probably inaccurate because of my large frame.
Does anybody know if calculating a BMI takes into account a person's body frame? It seems like it's just height and weight.
You may try a body fat/ body water scale. Target has a Tanita brand scale for about $50. This is the brand many drs use. Mine is accurate when compared to my drs high end version.
