Sweetest Day ~ do you celebrate it?
OK - so obviously I'm waiting on my reports to generate at work so I have a little free time.
I'm curious...........does your state celebrate sweetest day?
I was on the phone with my mother-in-law (Georgia) and she was asking about our plans for this weekend. I told her it was Sweetest Day and all the restaurants would be packed, etc. She then began to say.......you know what? They don't celebrate that in GA. I think it's a Michigan holiday.
What say you?
BTW ~ It's just like a Valentines Day but most men feel like Sweetest day is for them and Valentines Day is for the women.

I'm from FL, and they do it there, but nope....no Sweetest Day in Alabama.
For those interested, just a quick tidbit about it.
Sweetest Day is an original American holiday that is not based on any single group’s religious sentiment or on a family relationship. It is simply a reminder that a thoughtful word, deed, or small gift enriches the life of the recipient as well as the person giving it. In 2009, Sweetest Day will be celebrated on Saturday October 17th. Remember to celebrate the holiday and touch the life of someone special with a gift of flowers, plants, chocolates, or an eCard. Sweetest Day is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the Great Lakes region and the northeast. The observance of the holiday is gradually spreading throughout the United States as people relocate to various parts of the country and bring the regional celebration with them to their new homes. States that have the greatest observance of the holiday include Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Cities with the greatest observance of the holiday are Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit, and Buffalo.

Thanks for the info Hershey....
Just like Valentine's Day another man-made holiday. We don't celebrate Valentines Day either, why have a special day for something that should be done anyway??
There is this attorney in my office who get flowers I know at least twice a month from a hubby, just because.... How sweet is that??
