I am having Surgery on Monday and I have a few questions!!!

1. Whats a good protein to buy?
2. Whats a good proteing to get that a reasonable price.
3. What kind of things did you take to the hospital with you?
4. What other items did you buy or need after surgery!

I appreciate all the help you all can give me! I am so scared and nervous!

Congrats on your surgery! I used slim fast high protien drinks, but half the serving and I still eat a lot of canned tuna and chicken.  There easy and inexpensive.

1& 2 :body fortress which is sold at wallyworld for $13 for a 2 1b jar. 1 serving is 52grams of protein & so far the best tasting I've had.  It is whey protein

Because when you have your first & subsequent  BM's in the hospital, you will find that tissue, just won't do!

My preferred protein is Jay Robb eggwhite protein available at Vitamin Shoppe

The best priced protein I've encountered unless you cannot use milk products is Body Fortress available at Target, Walmart and some drug stores and supermarkets.

Pack light, you don't need much.  Non skid slippers; chapstick; if you wear a bra to bed a strapless one because of the iv line; a light housecoat; if you want your own nightgown get a sleeveless one and alter it to open at the soulders again because of the iv line; wear loose clothes to the hospital and wear the same thing home; underpants; deoderant ( most hospitals provide basic toiletries); ipod; cellphone and charger; books and magazines; your doctors post op instructions.

I did not need much besides protein and supplements.  I only bought groceries based on the post op instructions; and' toddler sized utensils to ensure I took small bites.  Don't buy too much food or protein as your tastes may change over the comming weeks.

Best of everything to you.  If you were not nervous there would be something wrong with you.
