Hey Brenda
When you first start running it does kill your knees and most people can't get past that. I remember springing both of my knees when I was doing the couch to 5K. Talk about pain but I wanted to complete it so bad I ran through the pain.
I say if you can stand the pain do it, if you feel like you need a knee replacement, stop.
Running is not for everyone, to be honest I don't even think running is for me, but it is the only thing that helps me lose inches.

Lee, you are truly inspirational - I'mma see if I can keep up....Lawd ham mercy!
I'm not sure if this is the original post, but I'll consider next week my 1st official week of starting this program, although I'm on week 3 of a Couch to 5K program that I bought on my iPhone. I'll probably continue that since I have some extra weight I need to get off. I can use the extra cardio.
Thanks Lee!!
