10K UNDER WAY, WEEK 1, RUN 1, IF YOU CAN'T RUN, WALK, JUST DO SOMETHING

Sorry you were not feeling well. Sounds like you are back in stride.

I started last Friday as day 1 and today was day 2.

I am going to do day 2 on Wednesday so I can keep up with you on the weeks.

Funny you mentioned running through the last walk. I did the same thing on both days!

After doing couch 25k and halfway completing the 8k before injuring my knee, I have been able to run for a straight hour, so like you breaking up the runs seem odd. When I got to the last walk I was listening to a favorite song (used my own music) and I decided to run it through til the end.

Like you said, I'll trust the program, and probably be begging for those breaks soon!

Great job to all who are running! Keep up the great work!

If I am gonna eat   like a fat girl, then I gotta workout   like a skinny girl!

Hey Fionna

Sorry girl,  I got totally sick and just could not run this weekend.   I tried to run on Friday and Saturday and both days I had to stop at like 10 min in.   I just felt terrible.

I didn't feel really good this morning either but I know I can't keep putting it off cause people were sending me messages asking what was up.

Yeah it's hard doing the intervals after being so use to running straight through so I am going to just trust it as much as I can and when I need more i'll do more after the program or maybe run twice in the day.

Be careful with your knees,  I remember we both had knee issues before and don't want to go through that again.

Thanks for running with me again Fionna,  I appreciate it.   I need the encouragement.

That is awesome Carol.   You can totally do this, it's not hard once you get going just try your best not to stop,  it will be hard at first, but it gets easier every time you do it.

Good Luck,  if you ever need some advice just hit me up.

Luv ya Lee but:  You're Nuts
Just kidding. Yes we asked for it and we got it!  I was off today so I started this afternnon and it was not as easy for me as it was for you because.......your fitness level is much higher than mine..... I have been very lazy lately.

BUT I got through it, Thanks for getting me off my butt.  The music drove me bonkers but I'll get used to it.
Peace & Blessings

run girl fat thin exercise

Your body will respond very quickly to the workouts,  jus****ch.  If you can make it through the 4 minutes, the 2 min walks feel like heaven.

The first day is never fun but the great thing about it is you just took a first step.   Don't turn back now.

You can look pass the music,  I look at the music as a tool right now,  it has a bpm and that is what I need at this point.   Your right you will get use to the music.

Hello Inspiration!

After work I darkened the doors of the gym I've been paying a membership for, but haven't been to for 6 months.   I only did about 15 min of the couch potato to 5k before my knee started protesting.  Seeing as I'm still paying for my summers worth of PT, I am not trying to cause any permanent injury.

After my 15 run/walk I did the circuit of weight machines and 150 crunches on the stability ball with a weighted medicine ball held to my chest.

I am gonna be sore tomorrow :-(

Hey Michelle

Protect your knees,  you know I know all to well what knee pain is about.     If you can't run do something else, it's not worth the pain that it may bring later on.

Awesome on the 150 crunches.

I've always admired the sleek look and strong legs of runners.  Hopefully I can get close to that silhouette with all the walking I do.  I hate just walking on the treadmill-I'd much rather be out waking the neighborhood or some of the local trails, but Brrrrrr! its getting cold here!
