A Mother's Sunday

Indulege my reflections and add thoughts if you like.....

I remember coming home from church as a kid and having a really big sunday dinner, relax in front of the TV, or playing outside.  My mom getting us ready for school the next week (i.e. ironing clothes for the week, laying out an outfit for each day, etc).

WHY CAN'T MY SUNDAY'S BE LIKE THAT NOW?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I started today with breakfast for the kids.  Scrambling to get dressed and get them ready on time.  We arrive to church 15 minutes late (an on-time record for us).  Worship service was awesome.  I am feeling uplifted and ready to face the week.  Does this feeling last all week, all day, all afternoon?  NOOOOOOO.  I pick up my kids from Children's Church to learn the normally shy 4 year old, hit someone for sitting in "his seat"! (day starting to turn worse), then in the middle of the freeway, both boys screaming "Momma I gotta pee"  quick exit to relieve themselves (but I am in a rush to change my fantasy football picks before kick off - getting stressed).  Whining persues that Granny promised them McDonald's after church while food was getting ready (err, uh Granny got a call that someone was in the hospital so she isn't even going to be available), So quick stop to Sonic for burgers for lunch, about 0 mins later the three year old vomits Blue Coconut Slush in the middle of the carpeted living room (Day just gone to hell).  Just got done cleaning that mess up and thought.....WHAT HAPPENED TO RELAXING SUNDAYS!!!!!!  I for once would have just liked a quiet Sunday with no incident.  Oh well!!

LOL, you know what its a little funny to me too.  Thats the disadvantage of their dad not at least getting them on "his" weekends.  No restful weekends.

I love my little stinkers but man they are on my last nerve .
