Political process, partisan thinking, special interest control have not gone away. Each is an effective tool in grinding all progress to a halt. A tool among many such tools built into the system and used by the unscrupulous flag waving true anti patriots that block progressive action that benefits the American general public over their own interests.
This process will take years which is why Mr President had to hit the ground running. He gets no honeymoon period and took none. All of his party are not in his corner. The right is seeking to change the process in a manner that will slow things to a halt. The same rules that allowed quick and unnoticed passage of items such as repealing equal time for political candidate views in the 80's are being questioned when it comes to healthcare reform. This, although there has never at any time been a more transparent piece of legeslation.
My challenge to myself and every voter is to stay abreast of what is happening in congress and the senate and burn up your elected officials' e mail boxes and post mail boxes with your views. The only way the bull **** will be curtailed is if the elected believe it translates into votes.
