Dear OH Members,

After WLS, alcohol can affect you twice as much as it did when you were a pre-op.  OH Magazine/Newsletter would like to learn your prospective and hear about some of your personal expierences.  How has alcohol affected your post-op weight loss and your ability to consume even small amounts? You can post here or email me privately if you wish to remain anonymous.  [email protected]
All my best,

i know its wrong to pick and choose which instructions you take from your bariatric surgeon and his team as far as what you can and cannot have after wls. the idea of never having a ****tail after surgery really put me off. I knew i was going to drink from time to time after wls. In fact i had a shot of tequila two weeks after surgery, with no other ill effects other than getting high "real fast".........i drink on occasion and haven't experienced any medical problems related to my surgery. in the average month i probably have 3 beers, 3 glasses of wine and 3 shots of tequila........I know that sounds like alot to some, but i dine out alot now, more so than before surgery. Nightspots, Monday night football, other sport events on TV, and just dinner out. I had r/ny surgery and have heard from others who have had the same surgery say they have had stomach issues with just the consumption of even a small amount of alcohol,......guess ive been lucky
