Couch to 5k.....calling all couch potatoes......let's learn how to run & lose weight!!
Hello BAF!!!
I'm on a mission to shed some pounds. I've been getting hits on the BL (I've always wanted to say that) regarding my comment to Lee about starting something on the board with couch to 5k.
Does anyone want to start the couch to 5k program with me? I'll start on Monday, October 12, 2009?
What is couch to 5k? www.couchto5k.com it starts off very slow and you'll be shocked at how good you could be.
I will post on the board 3 times a week (since you have to jog 3 times a week) and we can keep each other encouraged. What are your thoughts?
From personal experience...........I lost the most weight when Lee inspired me to start running but I never finished it. I think it's because Lee went on vacation and I had no accountability.
I'm no fitness queen or jogging guru like Lee but I know she'll be happy to help us along this journey and hopefully answer any questions we may have.
Who's in????.........no mercy................no excuses!
If I can do it...........anyone can.

Funny I got a bunch of emails yesterday asking me to start again also, that is why I mention yesterday that I would start posting again today after my workout last night.
I'm not going to do the couch to 5K, i'm running the 10K program now and I still don't enjoy running but I do it strictly for results.
I am using the podrunn interval traning program because I need the rests in between the runs.
There are several to chose from, personally I don't enjoy the Cool Running , couch to 5 K cause the music is way to boring. You guys could try the one by Suze at kissmyblackass.com for the hip hip, and there is the podrunner one that has a 5 K program.
You have a lot to chose from.
Lee inspired me back in April to do couch 25K. I completed it in June then started couch to 8k. While she was on vacation I injured my knee and had to stop running for a bit.
I fell in love with running and started running everyday. I increased my speed and distance just a little too fast and my knee rebelled.
With a little ice pack therapy and rest like Michelle mentioned, I am back in the game. I have been running for 3-4 days a week for the past month and I just started couch to 8k again this morning.
I am routing for all of you and will check in too!
If I am gonna eat like a fat girl, then I gotta workout
like a skinny girl!
