I have United Health Care Choice Plus. I will be having DS surgery coming up soon and I know after losing weight I will have to have tummy tuck and breast reduction. UHC will cover breast reduction no problem but will only cover tummy tuck if medically necessary. Has anyone with this insurance every got approved for tummy tuck and if so what steps did you have to take?

Hey there!  I have UHC as well - they will cover a panniculectomy - if medically necessary and it's typically around 5K to upgrade that to a full TT.

I've had a medically necessary anchor cut TT approved by them - as a scar revision to a previous surgery that wasn't done very well - the trick is to find a doctor willing to work through your insurance pre-cert process.

Good luck to you!!!

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

I have UHC and plastics are not covered period.  It depends upon the coverage stipulations between your employer and UHC in the insurance contract.  You can usually obtain a copy of insurance booklet/binder from your HR and you can check out coverages and exclusions.  Good luck to you.
