xpost: 4 years with my orginal band suzie and she is STILL kicking

Today I was wheeled into surgery 4 years ago on my birthday, it is a day of reflection for me, I thought I would share.
I currently have about 2.3ccs in my 4cc 10cm band, I have not had a fill in awhile, I've been too tight, several times I've had more than 20 fills and lots of unfills in these 4 years.
I've gone from a size 26 to about a size 12 now, this is my happy weight size, meaning, I don't really have to watch every bite that goes in my mouth, I have gained back about 15 pounds from my lowest weight. I have my original band and port and it is still functioning, my restriction level is moderate, I still can't eat a full solid meal at this point at my current fill level, but I really don't have any foods that I cannot eat, every once in a while I may try a burger or something thick and if I am not careful I will get stuck and slime on thick bread or meat, but overall my life is pretty normal and I can eat all the foods I ate prior to surgery just less of it.
My only advice is always listen to your body, it is NEVER normal to vomit often with the band or have reflux, these are warnings, I keep papaya enzyme tablets, pure lemon juice in my cabinet in this helps move food through if food gets plugged up.
My life has changed 100 percent for the better, I can wear cute clothes and still eat all the foods I want my band helps with the moderation part
, I found the love of my life, I have a great career, and I am happier than I have been in ages....so I can say my lap band has truly changed my life.
