Agreed, and I hope you know I am not asking you to justify your choice. Again, if you found love then that is great! Wonderful! More power to you and I wish the two of you the best of luck. I would just say owning a home, cars, etc doesn't make a person a good woman. It just means you have assets. I own a home, have a successful career, own nice vehicles, etc, but if I had to describe what makes me a good woman the list would start with my love God, love for people, kindness, thoughtfulness, loving to cook, being honest, straightforward, etc.
I worry that our generation of successful black women attribute their self worth to things and accomplishments rather than character. If we get to that point then we are in a dreadful state. I am proud of my degree, career, salary, and home - don't get me wrong but if tomorrow they were all gone I would still be proud of who I am as a person.
I am hoping to find someone who can appreciate that. My husband did not. Which is not an indictment on black men, just stupid ones. I am open to someone who will love and appreciate me, regardless of the package it comes in. To me a man's looks are far less important than his OUTLOOK!

Brenda, I totally AGREE... you have a LOT to offer yourself, so you DO get my point, and once you get a certain age, having a fine guy banging you and just wasting space; and not bringing NOTHING to the table GETS OLD REAL QUICK....and I totally agree with your statement....To me a man's looks are far less important than his OUTLOOK! Lookie here...I tried my best to find a GOOD BROTHA that was willing to spoil me, take me on vacations twice a week...open up the car door EVERY TIME, buy me a diamond ring, gold for my birthday...WILLING TO GET MARRIED and buy a house in the suburbs with the cats and dogs....BUT I COULD NOT FIND THAT IN Virginia
