Did anybody make the transformation without having a lot of loose or saggy skin? Was it due to genes or did you have certain exercises that helped? Which parts of your body sag the most? I aleady know I am going to have loose skin on my arms and tummy. hoping that my thighs, back, abd breast dont sag.

I can't wait to see the responses on this one. For me........the arms and thighs are the worse.

I don't have any loose skin.   I workout a lot and while I think that played a part in it i think I was just lucky.   My legs are nice and tight and my arms are nice.

Start lifting weights and doing a whole lot of squats and stuff it will give you a better chance and a head start on the loose skin.

I think it also depends on how stretched out your skin is and how much elastic you have left.

Pilates and gaastric bypass..lol thanks for being so honest with your answers. I have gained and lost a few times and I did not have loose skin, but I fugured this time around I might not be so lucky since I have done the yo-yo thing for so long. I am excited about getting healthy and being in shape, and I know that the saggy skin hits a lot of people. I just wanted to see if there was a chance, and you have given me that hope...thanks Lee..

I have loose skin on my tummy.  Exercise will not help loose skin.  Genetics plays a huge part, but loose skin is attributed also to how much excess weight you carried, for how long and how old you are and any nutritional/health issues that you may have had that can affect the condition of you skin.  ( Info from my plastic surgeon)

I know that I will need a TT and breast lift when I'm at goal.

I don't really have much (80 lbs lost from 1st surgery) but I fear I will have more now that I have had the revision.  There is a woman at my job who lost 130 lbs with RNY and she says that she doesn't have any. I haven't seen her without clothes so I can't say, but she told me that she does a full body rub with Shea Butter each morning and night after showers and she exercises a lot.  I adopted her regimine with my band, and plan to do it with my RNY.  Don't know if it helps but worth a shot.

Hi,
this may sound weird as all get out but.....

I've had surgery twice..lapband first and revision to vsg in February of this year.

With the first surgery, I lost from my highest weight of 247 (at the time) to 207 from October-January. My thighs and tummy sagged terribly. I didn't want to deal with a tummy tuck but knew that I would need one due to getting a navel infection due to the sagging.

I later began to have issues with the silicone serpant (lapband) that resulted in unfills-fills-then finally a permanent unfill which lasted until my revision. I regained all of the weight and then went on to gain 36 more lbs. My weight on the day of my revision was 284 lbs.

I expected to have the same issues as before but haven't and plan to ask my surgeon about this on tomorrow when I see him. Thus far, NOTHING has sagged. I am currently weighing 213 and wearing a smaller size than I did at 207 the first time, I am certain that losing more slowly has played a role in this and I wore a binder due to my second surgery being open.

My tummy and butt are getting smaller as well as my legs. I do know that the weight loss this time has been different than before, I lost all stomach and legs the last time and this time I am losing evenly from the face down. I also think that the regain changed the dynamics  because the fat wasn't there for over 20 yrs as it was the first time around

Other than walking and occasional 3lb dumbbell exercises, I am not exercising and I am definately not able to work out strenuously due to MS, so at this time no tummy tuck is in the works. I will see what losing the last 40 or so lbs will bring....perhaps the screw is waiting to fall out.
