Have WLS ever made you feel bad or sad?

Morning BAF!!

Before I start this note I just want to say that I feel I have thick skin and I'm not easily offended but just wondering if anyone ever felt this way.

My sister is getting married this weekend and I'm the matron of honor. It's 9 other bridesmaid including some of my cousins and other sisters. Nevertheless, we all went to my Mom's to try on our dresses and of course mine was too big so I need alterations. The whole time we were there I felt bad. One of my sisters couldn't get her dress zipped up and the other one (bride) kept complaining about how big she looked. One part of me felt happy because the dresses are really beautiful and we all looked great; but the other part of me felt bad because everyone kept talking about all the weight I've lost.

Have you ever felt bad about WLS? Not about yourself because you know you've made the right decision but feeling bad about how others feel? I mean..........I'm thinking you're the bride and it's all about you - you are beautiful. Yet, I understand where she is mentally about the whole thing. I don't know guys...............just wondering and praying that on Saturday folks don't make a big deal about me but focus on my sister. Obviously, it's going to be folks at the wedding that hasn't seen me in years.

You have to learn to enjoy the feeling of clothes falling off of you, of jeans feeling baggy and having to keep tugging at them to keep them up.   Oh how I miss that one.

I have one regret about having WLS and that is that I let myself gain weight,  because it is so hard to get it off once you gain some back.    I also wish I would have gotten it earier. 

Enjoy your weight loss,  don't feel bad because others are bigger than you.   You spent many years being big and now it's your time to strip away that fat and enjoy the new skinny girl you have become.

Thanks Lee! I hear what you're saying but it's hard sometime..........now just because I have haters at church........I give them something to talk about. I make sure I'm looking my best. It's a little different cause this is my little sister and I kinda feel her pain..........cause that was me last year. Every time I looked in the mirror I was like..........ugh.

I feel you on this - I do feel bad sometimes when I see chicks at the clothing store trying on things and making comments - then look at me like 'skinny heffa'..........

A sales girl in Ashley Stewart asked me why I was there - and they carry size 12!!!  She was telling me 'you can shop in dillard's or macy's'  ummm - yea - but I WANT to shop here!  But I kinda felt like an intruder or something......

Everybody has to do their own thing in their own time - you never know - she might look back on her photos and that might be the trigger for her to change or might not - either way - you made your decision for you - not so that everybody ELSE would be happy - but that so YOU would be. 

Man, Ashley Stewart and them darn salespeople................they can make you feel real bad. Last week they had the buy one get one 50% sale so I was thinking........this is my chance to get some more work slacks since they are all too big. I go into the dressing room with my 16s and proud of them........they were too big and this heffa said.........you probably need a 10 and we don't sell those. Now I'm thinking..............I'm not that dang ole small..........I ended up with at 14 fitting just fine but her stank attitude pissed me off. Don't get pissed at me because of my size......I politely told her that the 14s fit. I can take that crap with a grain of salt any day but I guess this situation just snuck up and made me feel bad cause it hit so close to home.

BTW ~ Ashley Stewart is one of my favorite stores!

LOL!!!  Ok - so that's just how they rolll  - it ain't just me!!!! 

 but they don't fit exactly right - I'm not a true plus size anything - I should have bought them in misses like she said.....

Well then you deserved the "tude" then.......stay out our store. j/k

So far I've gone from a 24 to 14 so that was a wow moment for me and I couldn't let that heffa ruin it.

I am sure I will have a good story along these lines next month.  I am going to take the last few large size items I have to a consignment shop - including my 5x size full length coat.  the LAST time I took stuff there - the lady said NO WAY they were my old clothes - and I was a size 20 then.......

The physcial changes come first then come the mental change you have to retrain your brain to feel good about how good you look, that now you are too hot for TV. Not long ago you were the one who had to lay on the bed to get that zipper up. You made a choice an took the steps to be healthy. During your sisters time to shine if people are spending too much time talking about you then simply  help them put the spotlight back on the beautiful bride.

That's so true...........I'll just turn the focus to her and say.......isn't she beautiful. this is the one day...............I really don't want the spotlight on me. ugh........
