OT: When is a child too old...

for a good arse whippin????  My niece lives with me (15 - will be 16 in Dec).  How-so-neva,  I punished her from the phone and actually removed house phones from the house and put in the trunk of the car.  I just learned that she snuck in a phone from somewhere and had it plugged in upstairs.  Now the original reason for punishment, was that she failed three test (three different classes) due to what I believe was lack of studying and phone addiction.

This child has struggled in school, I have paid for summer school and tutoring ($900 per month) to no avail.  She is so triffling that she would do the damn home work and not turn it in.  I am constantly at the school, on the phone with counselors and teachers ect.  I will be honest I tore that behind up today, but I really wanted to (in southern vernacular) "Stomp a mud hole in her azz".

My boys are 3 and 4 I really don't have time for this teen drama, but I am trying to help my sister out and keep her in this school district.  I don't think I got arse whippins at 15 or even after 13 but I was a good kid and made good grades.  I am really torn because I would like to just punish her but when you ignore or sneak around a punishment - whats next????  As a kid I never got punished, but I got enough beat-downs youger that as a teen I knew my mom wasn't to be played with.  Weigh in, thoughts welcome (especially from those who have dealt with teenage girls)

me & my sisters never gave my parents trouble, but a few of my brothers got their butts beat up to age 18!

Beating her tail may make her rethink things.  But I would suggest sitting her down & explaining why she forced you to go to such an extreme and I would ask her why SHE is trying so hard NOT to succeed when you are doing everything humanely possible to see that she does.

Good luck!!

that would be best then.  if she doesn't now, she will eventually appreciate what you are trying to do for her.  But, even though she's a teen & trying to railroad her ownself, she won't ever be able to say that noone ever cared about her or tried to help her.

I have 4 adopted siblings that are within 2 months of each other, so they are in their late 20's now. However, when they were in high school, my mom put a recieving phone only in for their use,as they were running up the phone bill making long distance calls & kept the regular phone locked up in her bedroom.

Do you know those turkeys figured out how to dial out??

Thing is they didn't think my parents knew anything about this, but I was living out of state at the time & she told me what was up.  So one day I neede to make an outgoing call (b.c.p.-before cell phones)  & they were all chillin in the kitchen.  So, i mentioned this & they replied snickering that I had to wait till mom or dad came home.   You should have seen their mouths drop, when I picked up that phone & started dialing out!!  That was priceless, especially when the reality hit that mom knew what they were doing all along.   After I left, she took that phone out for a while & told them that they better not bring another one in or they were going to get a beat down.

Brenda, Brenda, Brenda.  Lawd, girl, I don't know what to say because it would take all night and half of the morning to tell you about my daughter.  I try my best not to put my hands on her (she's 18 now), but that heffa will strike a nerve and before I know it, I have her pent up against the wall.

You have my sympathy....uh, I mean my prayers!

Cookie, that is exactly how I felt.  I wanted to put her tail through the wall last night.  I did ask her why she was sabatoging her future, to which se just replied, "I am not!" and I wanted to choke her arse.  But we shall see what today brings.

On a different note than others. I have one sibling (14 year old sister) yes you heard it..LOL. For some reason, I was the one who got popped in the mouth, whoopings and everything else. My mom had her later in life and I think she is just too tired to do what she used to. This heffa, will make you want to snatch a hole in her throat. I am expecting my first baby (dont live in the same house) but still deal with my sis on a day to day basis. I feel your pain.. truly I do.

Since 2/12/08. I have went from 364 to 210. Thank You RNY!
No More PCOS, had my first baby 04.24.10!

My Life is wonderfully full because of my tool! (RNY)

Hi

Explain to your sister that you've done all that you can,, and return
her ass home.  Don't kill your self,, to help someone that does not
appreciate what your trying to do for her,, if she appreciated it,, she
would not be giving you so much trouble.
So Blessed!
