Hey everyone,

Here's the update from when I posted on the 21st, about the pancreatitst. Well I guess I recap first. I went to bed Monday, Sept 14th with sharp, agonizing pain in my stomach, thought that it would go away. Went all day Tuesday Sept 15th with the same pain but it got worse. I contacted but my primary care doctor and my pain management doctor about the situation and it took them forever to get back to me. I decided to go to the emergency room around 5:30pm Tues, Sept 15th, and that is when both Dr's offices decided to call me back. I was in the emergency room from 530am until 1am the 16th. They put me on IVs and pain meds but couldn't figure out what was arong with me. They were talkin about sendin me home, and I was like, "hell no" not with all this pain, so they ended up keeping me in the hospital, they ran CT scans Ultrasounds, MRI's and a crap load of blood test, then they found out I have pancreatitst. (which sucks butt). So I was in the hospital about 6 days, on IV nothing to eat barely anything to drink. They still hadn't figured out how to fix my problem. The pain meds were starting to wear thin, and the doctor started experiment on other ones, and cutting down the one that was working. SO I was very unhappy. The doctor then decided to send me home on Sunday, Sept 21. I was in so much pain and they only sent me home with a couple morphine pills that get me through an hr or two. So by the end of the night I wanted to DIE, and I felt like there was water in my lungs, so I went back to the ER. I was there for another 6 hrs and they said there was nothing wrong so I went home. So here it is almost a week later, and in a weeks time I have lost 12 lbs!! It is almost next to impossible for me to eat, because when I do eat as my food is being digested it feels as my stomach is being torn apart!! Its the worse pain ever, and thats ANYTHING I eat, broth, soup, ice cream, anything. And the thing that really sucks is that I am hungry and I do want to eat but I CAN'T! All of this weight is just falling off of me and there is nothing I can do!!

H-E-L-P!!!

I would think you need to see a GI doctor. I just so happen to work for one and we jus recently saw a post RNY pt with the same problem and they put a stent in her pancreas which helped o releive her pain. I cannot remeber the specifics at the moment but a GI doctor is definitely who I would suggest. I hope this helps and I certainly hope you feel better soon.

Oh I forgot to add that part, well I did see a GI doctor yesterday (friday) as a matter of fact, and this dude was WEIRD. He was a older white guy, and he kept using terms like "dickin around" and profanity and just very unprofessional. I bet if we were the other color he wouldn't feel so comfortable to be be so unprofessional. He decided that they would need to do the esco-- something or another when they put the camera down your throat into your stomach, but they couldn't see me until Oct 6, and OH yeah the best part is, they are putting me to sleep using the same stuff that Michael Jackson died from, (yeah the doctor told me that, specifically). So basically he just told me to hang in there until then. He also said that he think I may have appendicitis as well. :( So life REALLY sucks now.

Thank you very much!

Do you have other options to see a GI specialist?  He can't be the only one in the area.  Oct 6 is way too far away!  Praying for your healing.

It is an EGD and GI doctors are not supposed to use propofol and you need to see someone else. If he seems to think you have appendicitis why wouldn' t they take it out, they dont leave it in when it inflames because it can rupture. He sounds like an idiot and You definitely need to see a different GI doc.
